EOC Technical Analyst In my role we have to monitor customer IT systems. I am responsible for the 2 sisters food group and rail network accounts; i also do parts of the BBC account. We have monitor the customers server infrastructure, we have to ensure the systems are up and working efficiently. We are responsible for doing backup processes, system monitoring and system maintenance. There are also various project I have been involved in, which I do along side my day to day role. One of which was assisting in the implementation and transition of a server automation tool called IPsoft. I helped create, organize and complete various software templates and documentation which was needed by management.
There has been various new skills and qualifications I have gained and developed since starting my apprenticeship program. For example my communication, team working, and leadership skills have all develop vastly since starting. This is because day to day you are in an environment where you are having to work together with colleagues to ensure the best service possible. Since starting I have undertaken various training course, from security related courses to healthy and safety.
I quite enjoyed the apprenticeship program, this because the company and department made us as apprentices feel welcome and feel as though we were valued members of the department. The work we did varied, and we also got to spend team with various other teams and departments. I quite enjoyed the diversity.
AtOS makes apprentices feel very valued. From a personal perspective, my manager always gave me feedback and recognition whenever I completed a task well. I was given credit and recognition from new ideas and being allowed to get involved with work for big customers was always nice. Also the company held an event to celebrate apprentices completing our course, which was attended by various senior members of the company which made us feel very valued.
The structure of the program was done well, we got to go to different teams and various departments to see what work they do and get a feel of the company. We assignments from QA, help was always on hand. we were given help finding relevant documentation etc. The induction was very fun and help us settle in quite quickly.
QA were very helpful. we were given an assessor and she was always willing to help and explain things thoroughly. In center the tutors were the same, they were also ready to help when ever you had a question or needed some help, which made the experience that much more enjoyable.
Support from the company was excellent. I was always able to talk to my manager about anything. When ever I needed help not only my manager but my colleagues were always there to offer there help which was nice.
Salary was competitive. I was able to pay for everything I needed and in time even able to purchase and maintain having a car. Cost related to training and company related which all covered by the company. So we could claim expenses, like travel cost and lunch back from the company.
There are some, some members of staff organize get together or sponsored events which everyone is free to get involved in.
