Structural Trainee Engineer Daily, I check my emails and respond accordingly. I will carry out tasks set by my manager or other engineers / technicians that need assistance. I have worked on Wellesley , Rydens School and New Fleming Park
I'm still working towards the qualification aspect, but I have learnt about designing programs such as Revit, Auto CAD and Micro-Station. I have taken part in a 2 day Micro-Station course internally and a 3 day Revit course externally with excitech.
I enjoy my team in Arup, I have created many interdiscipline relationships both in my own office and also others within the UK. Arup as a company is very relaxed, accommodating and caring towards their workers and completely exceeded my expectations.
I feel very valued by Arup. My efforts and participation in a project is always appreciated by other members of staff as well as managers and senior partners.
Very efficient and effective. Any external training I needed I was put forwards swiftly. I can easily and comfortably ask for help I may need for my studying. Even though i haven't directly had one, I know I able able to request a support meeting or a mentor.
I feel there is a high level of support from the training provider. We have optional tutorials at the end of the college day that we can use to ask questions regarding the content of the course or for the assignments. General positive attitude towards supporting me on the course.
The amount of support I am able to revive is relevant to how much I feel I need or request. Its a positive attitude towards supporting me and my studies.
At the moment I'm living at home, taking the train to work everyday so at the moment the salary basically meets my costs. However I am looking to move out, soon so will have to review my options.
I have participated in many events outside Arup, social and educational such as lectures. I currently am a champion of Arup for the Princes Trust in South West and also part of the charity committee. Outside of work I take part in a netball club and a circuits club.
Yes
Its is great company with many opportunities. They care about their employees and encourage individuality in their employees. They are social and have regular get together either as a whole office or as a discipline
Show your personality and your passion. But look presentable when meeting assessors. Talk about your interests and about what makes you different from other applicants.
