Day-to-day I am supporting a Helpdesk in India. They are an internal helpdesk for a Warehouse Database which involves them dealing with the thousands of users access who use the warehouse.
I have been on an Internal Teradata training course which was something I was not familiar with before hand. I can now use simple SQL to manipulate data and access databases. I have also had a lot of training by my team to teach me how to do my day-to-day job.
The company is a great one to work for with lots of perks and benefits which makes you feel motivated and you enjoy your job even more. I enjoy work a lot more than I expected to and have met a great lot of people since joining. In most teams there are lots of social activities too which definitely makes work more enjoyable.
I feel very valued by LBG. For any good work, it will most of the time be recognised and you can be given rewards for good work. The bonus scheme also contributes to how valued I feel by LBG.
The apprenticeship company Learn direct could have been more structured in our learning content etc. But I had a very supportive line manager who helped me feel organised and allowed me enough time to do my studies.
Could have received more support and more physical visits rather than phone calls. This would help to get problems s resolved sooner.
A lot of support. I had a great line manager who helped me lots and was very understanding when I needed extra time for my studies. The apprenticeship is also now very recognised within LBG so a lot of people are keen to help where they can.
The salary was brilliant and more than met my costs. Now that I have completed my apprenticeship it seems that I am going to have to wait a while to get a salary which matches the work I am currently doing.
There are lots of social activities that my team takes part in throughout the year. Its a great way to get to know your team better and allows you to let your hair down a bit. There are also opportunities to go to other offices now and again which is always fun to go and meet colleagues you only know over email.
Yes
It is definitely a career rather than just a job and I feel like they are a great company to work for with their perks and the way they value their colleagues.
Just be yourself and don't be afraid to go up to London etc. The travelling was the most daunting experience for me, the interview itself was enjoyable.
