I work in the audit department as an associate. I am mainly out on site at clients, working through their accounts, testing each part that makes up the accounts, and finally preparing the financial statements. I have been responsible for my own jobs, organising meetings, corresponding with client and leading teams of up to 5 people.
I am currently qualifying to my AAT and after that I will go on to study the ACA. I am much better at using the microsoft office software and also the programmes we use in GT for our audit work. I am mch more organised and feel more confident talking to people more senior to me.
I really enjoy my job, as I get to work with some great people and network with new people.
We have appraisals at the end of each job we do, and the managers show their appreciation for the work I have done.
The school leaver scheme is very well organised, and when we first started, we had help to set up our training at Kaplan.
We train for our qualificatins at Kaplan Financial - they are great teachers of the subjects.
My line manager helps the most and whenever I have a problem, I can always turn to them.
My salary is fine for the costs I am incurring at this time.
There are quite a few company events we get to attend, such as MCASS events. We also have away days and partys. There are quite a few sports clubs and social clubs we can join too.
Yes
I've had a great time at GT and would recommend the school leaver scheme to anyone.
DO you research on GT and go into the interview as confident as possible. There is a blog called spilling the beans which GT does and that should also have some hints and tips
