As a process engineering apprentice in my first year I am at college full time. During any college holidays I get the opportunity to go on site and get involved in any projects going on.
I will leave college with a HND, as well as skills that will be useful within my job and personal life. The subjects that I am being taught range from chemistry and maths classes to process safety to electrical classes. A lot of my course is practical work.
I extremely enjoy my programme and the work that I get involved in both on and off site. I get on well with other employees and have a good support team if I ever need help with anything.
I feel very valued by GSK.
I have been given a basic plan for my 4 year apprenticeship and it has been well organised. Once the college course had been sorted then programme fitted together.
I receive good support from the college and from the employees within GSK who are helping me throughout.
I receive a lot of support from the employer and it does not seem like I am bothering them. I have easy methods of contacting them if any problems occur.
Very well. Accommodation and meals are provided for me.
Yes there are company nights out, team building retreats, and a social club just outside the site.
Yes
It is a good apprenticeship with good opportunities.
It is a great apprenticeship with many ways of working up the ranks after the apprenticeship is up with opportunities of travelling so if you get the chance to do it then you should.
