I work in the Tech Resiliency Management team, and our job is to ensure that the most important and critical apps that JPM use are compliant with resiliency policy in case there was to be a disaster with the servers they use. My main job within the team is reporting, so I help with daily & weekly reports as well as monthly forums.
As well as the CISI qualification that all the apprentices are doing, I've done training for the various applications and systems I use. My skills with talking to people and forming relationships have really been put to the test, and I think have developed a lot!
I am thoroughly enjoying being an Apprentice at JP Morgan- I am kept busy and very well supported by the other apprentices, the Schools Team and my work team.
Within my team, I do feel valued because I have my own responsibilities as well as things we all do. It's also very nice to know that as apprentices we can still be noticed and put forward for various opportunities.
Very good. Having one full day of study a week has been very beneficial, and the support from the Schools Team is excellent. Having a 2-week bootcamp at the start was a good way to begin.
The support is there if you need it, and tutors are keen to help which is excellent. On the whole, the course is of varied difficulty (so far) but we are being guided through fairly thoroughly.
Lots. As well as the other apprentices being available as a peer group, the Schools team is always willing to help and I feel that I could go to them with any problem, likewise my manager.
Absolutely fine. I have very few outgoings at the moment, so the standard salary for apprentices is not causing me a problem. Travel costs are very reasonable at JPMC.
We are offered lots of different opportunities, and the chance to get involved in things just as much as other employees. As apprentices, we are encouraged to get involved with things like volunteering, talks etc.
Yes
The atmosphere in the workplace is very friendly, and the support from everyone is very encouraging for a young person just starting out. It is an excellent opportunity.
In order to gain the most from this experience, someone should always be enthusiastic and try to get involved with as much as they can, before and after applying.
