I work in Test Utility, which involves testing the systems in J P Morgan with an internal team across two locations. Daily tasks include writing scripts, testing scripts and interacting with various internal clients to reach the best possible solution
I have learnt a lot of knowledge-based skills, focusing mainly on the systems we use and the products that we provide, as well as extending my knowledge of MS Excel. There are also hundreds of internal training courses, to expand knowledge and skills outside of my daily role.
Although the work can sometimes be difficult, I know my team will always be there to support me. The company culture is excellent, and the team is extremely friendly. This by far exceeded my expectations
I feel extremely valued by JP Morgan, and receive a lot of feedback from my managers, and recognition from others outside of my team through involvement with other projects in the firm.
The programme is well structured, and easily understood. I know when I should be completing my training, and given time for study. I receive support through the apprenticeship leaders, and also from other apprentices.
There is a lot of support from the training provider, as well as weekly lectures, our tutor is also available any time I need a question answered. I know who to look to for guidance when I need it
My manager and team is extremely support it, and always ensure I have the time I need to reach my goals.
The salary meets most of my costs
There are many opportunities outside of working hours, including a mixture of company events, activities and sports/social clubs. They are also keen to help the local community, giving you a chance to make a difference
Yes
I have encouraged others to apply for the apprenticeship here, due to the organised nature of the programme, and the excellent working environment
Be confident, persistent and hard-working
