I am currently a access field engineer this entails me, servicing any faults that are found affecting customer services. Also I install these services, such as Digital boxes, routers and telephone. It involves communicating with customers and ensuring that the problem or install is done properly.
I have learnt a lot about the network itself and how to rectify faults in a Hybrid Fibre Coax network. I have also passed a NASRWA training course and will also be finish my NVQ.
I enjoy the programme to a good extent, some parts of the job I do not find enjoyable as others, but feel that the job is adequate for the time being.
I feel slightly undervalued by the people higher up in the company, however my direct team and managers just above me seem to value my input and abilities.
The programme is structured to a degree however I recieve little time in a class room enviroment but also feel that this develops my own skills.
I recieve a lot of support from my support manager, and also my PT and manager, This helps me develop my skills and also know that there is help at hand if I ever need it. The attitude towards help is that if you need it you have to ask but I feel that that is acceptable.
As above
I feel that my wage should be slightly higher, i get paid around 2/3 of the wage recieved by a entry level tech however i do 75% so feel that a rough 10% raise would be more inkeeping with the work load, In the city I live in I feel that it is just about acceptable but due to other commitments my money doesnt seem to stretch far however that is down to me.
There are lots of opportuities for team building and charity work.
Yes
I feel the services provided by my company are well inkeeping with the price framework.
