GSO Middleware Integration Clerical Associate I Review

I am in GSO Middleware team. It is my team's job to provide monitoring support for servers used by messaging applications such as SWIFTBus. Applications connect to these servers to be able to send messages in the system of processing monetary transactions, for example. - Control Patching Lifecycle Management system for my team's NA owned servers. - Control team's JIRA Project site for SOAMESSAGING chairing regular calls for discussion on recent activity. - Leading conversion of monitoring tools to GENEOS. - General monitoring support services for our internal clients (being the application teams), who connect to our servers we manage, to be able to process customer transactions. - Being trained to be on the front line for supporting SWIFTBus application.

I am in the process of obtaining the CISI Investment Operations Certificate (IOC). This includes qualifications in CISI Introduction to Securities & Investment, CISI Risk in Financial Services, and CISI IT in Investment Operations. I have also attended a week long external training course called SoftwareAG webMethods ESB Administration workshop. This course was based on developing my understanding in the administrative tasks my team performs on the computer servers we monitor using a product called webMethods that is owned by SoftwareAG. I have attended a wide range of internal courses at work both online and in classroom that cover a wide range of topics including personal development, risk and compliance as well as specific areas within the business. Personal skills I have developed are: - Interpersonal skills - Organizational skills - Teamwork skills Professional skills I have developed are: - webMethods - Tibco EMS - Patching Lifecycle Management - Geneos - HTML/CSS - Linux/Unix - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook The main thing I have learnt is to never hold back. If I have a question, ask it. If I need to do something, get it done straight-away, rather than saying I'll do it tomorrow. Things get done quicker, if you do it as soon as you see it.

I very much enjoy working at JP Morgan. There are over 4000 people just on the Bournemouth campus where I work. This is a huge amount, but I still feel very valued and a like I am a vital cog both in my team and JP Morgan. This is an integral part of JP Morgan's culture where everyone knows that you can succeed as much as you are willing to work. It is built as a meritocracy. My team has been more than welcoming and have really helped kick-start my career. It has more than met my expectations.

The structure of the Apprenticeship is excellent. We had a 2 week 'boot-camp' before we officially started in the office which gave us a really good insight in what to expect and to ease some nerves, as well as build our very own already diverse network with other apprentices. The training, support and study given by my Apprenticeship manager Phillip Paige and BPP has been very good. They are always on hand to help, very quick with responses that often provide the solution to my answers straight away. We were assigned a 'buddy' when we started in the office who was an apprentice from the group in the year above. This was a great idea to have a fellow apprentice as my work buddy, as it was really good to hear about the recent experiences and things they wish they'd done if they could start again, which I would come across soon enough.

My whole team including my manager has been outstanding with support. They are readily telling me to always ask questions if I am unsure on something and are always seeking to help me develop in my job role further.

It is satisfactory for someone relocating to Bournemouth having to pay for rent and social costs at the same time.

Yes JP Morgan has a wide range of sports clubs. I am a member of the running and tennis clubs, which are a really good way to have fun, as well as network with colleagues. I am also attending internal French classes which are really good and help to keep my mind stimulated on something else other than work. There are always voluntary activities you can par-take in. JP Morgan has a specific site where you can go online and search for upcoming corporate volunteering events. JP Morgan is amazing for helping the Dorset community and has raised tens of thousands. I am taking part in Round the Isle of Wight race this summer which is for the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. I have managed to raise a lot of money in my attempt to run the half marathon around the island. The apprenticeship network has led me to make many friends in my move down to Bournemouth from Essex. There are always social drinks, parties and nights out to attend. I am also a member of the Gym next door to work.
