web support call consultant - handling calls from advisers and policy holders trying to register for the website, amending access, guiding around functionality and dealing with faults
a better understanding of web support and IT development, as well as skills in fault management. has also helped me develop better patience and record keeping
as part of a small unit we have a very close knit team which is great for work morale, the website itself and the service we offer is rather dated and so this can affect day to day work as the faults and complaints we receive have been repeated for several years
when i first started with the group the wage was under the average for the sector which was dissappointing. however, after moving up a grade i feel the wage is competitive and the benefits package is exceptional. from Flex to colleauge offers and staff discounts, there is a wealth of offerings that the group provides that beat other companies
initally the apprenticeship programme was quite chaotic as i am given to understand that that the trainer had some staffing problems. this resulted in a late start to the course and large delays in the meetings. since our new trainer started the programme appears a lot better organised and meetings are more regular
our current trainer is very supportive, i've never had a query that went unanswered and she has always been very quick to respond to emails and texts
there isn't a great deal of support needed from the employer as the onus is mostly on the colleauge. however, they have been very accomodating when it comes to meetings with the trainer
our group works on a grading system, A being the lowest, my feelings were that the grade A role is on the low end of the pay scale as the job can be quite technical and demanding at times. however, the B grade which i'm currently on does seem more in line with what i'd expect from this role.
the company has a big focus on charity where it actively encourages fund raising and even pays for 1 day a year for a collegue to participate in an activity out of work. there is also a great team spirit when it comes to arranging activities and nights out.
Yes
i think there is a great career path working for the company, there are so may different departments and sectors that it is easy to find a fit. there are also many different training schemers, development and job shadowing opportunities to help people progress
i think it's important to realise that you get what you put in with this company. because of how busy we are and how many colleagues are employed it's important to push for your own development, this helps you progress and it helps you get acknowledged when new opportunities arise. the grade A pay was dissappointing but for people looking to work hard and progress quickly the long term package is good
