I am currently working in transport modelling and have been using such software's as Arc GIS and Excel to complete tasks set by my manager. Normally during the week I am involved with meetings gaining more knowledge about other areas or other useful information about the company.
I have developed my skills in software's and other transport modelling key areas, I really enjoy it. I have also developed my people skills and especially communicating well around the company and with other people.
I enjoy my programme fully, the work I get interests me and expands my knowledge. I also enjoy my team I work in as I can share work and get lots of support from them. It exceeded expectations and I enjoy every aspect of the company thoroughly.
I feel very valued as I get appreciated for good work and get feedback that I can build on. I also get invited to lots of meetings that can be useful to me and also other external activities with co workers which is good. I get involved with a lot of work and am constantly working on a project.
My programme is very well structured as I was given my induction and then training on learning point for the first couple weeks and then straight into transport modelling work and training. I have received a lot of support and feedback for the projects that I do that I am involved with. I have regular meetings with my manager and team to discuss how I am getting on/ work/projects and other information I may need to know.
I receive a lot of support from stegta as they run my college course. I have regular meetings with a training officer to keep me on track with college and my NVQ. I have only had one problem but it was instantly sorted out by the training provider. I am happy with the support I get.
I receive a lot of support from my manager, I have frequent meetings with my manager and team to discuss how I am getting on. I also have the team around me checking on how I am getting on and giving me feedback. They are always happy for me to ask questions and help me.
I am fully satisfied with my salary as it supports me well. I get supported with my travel costs as well. As I am 17, I do not have to pay any excess such as living.
There are lots of company events outside of work for example a sports club and other social gatherings with co workers, I find them fun and also interact with other co workers I wouldn't normally talk to with other sectors. I can now join a good gym to help my fitness. I intend to go to some seminars discussing different topics related to transport.

It is a fantastic opportunity for a young person. There is a lot of support given from the company to help your education and also work with nice people who have your best interest at heart. With this company has expanded my opportunities in many different ways.
I would say be honest and be calm and confident in the application process as I was given the task of producing a presentation. Also be open to new opportunities and enjoy the work you are given.
