I work within the Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) & Services sector specialist team within large corporate companies. On a day to day basis this involves getting involved with organising roadshows for products that the team are launching, meeting customers and seeing how the bank can help their business, tracking High Growth Business' and distirbuting them to the correct relationship manager who will then make the effort to try and meet these customers. I have been involved in producing business briefs for colleagues when they go out to visit clients so that they are aware of the background of their business and the financials within the customers business.
I have definately learnt new skills. I have learned a lot of skills revolving around the banking role and banking procedures. I have also developed existing skills such as organisation, time-management, personal development and confidence.I am learning new things everyday within my role which is exciting and again is helping towards my personal development.
I enjoy the programme a lot. I am learning things which I would not learn in a classroom or at university. I find that I learn best when I am out experiencing and working first hand.I enjoy the programme a lot as I am learning lots of practical skills which you would not learn in a classroom.
I feel very valued by RBS. Everyone is very friendly and everyone is willing to help you no matter who they are. I feel like I could ask anyone for help and anyone would be willing to give up some time to help you. Coming into a workplace for the first time can be quite daunting but everyone that works in the office was friendly and are always willing to help.
The programme is very well organised and structured. The Exam is at the beginning of the programme which means you get the hard part out of the way first. The programme also means that what I am learning with my training provider I tend to find myself practicing and talking about on a day to day basis.
The training provider provides a lot of support. They are always on hand and I have about 4 or 5 different people who I can contact if I ever need help.
I recieve a lot of support from my employer and dont believe that the transition would have been as smooth without them. My line manager is always on hand to help as well as my team, as well as the people who I sit with in the office. The support from the employer is very helpful.
The salary pays very well and meets my cost! The salary is well paying and you're getting paid whilst you're learning something new!
Yes there are lots of opportunities! There is the opportunity to be involved in a sport council, networking council, charity council, help out on charity days.
Yes
RBS is very helpful and accomodating for all of your needs. They are willing to help you if you need it and want to help your personal development in as many ways as possible.
Apply to RBS as it is more than worth it! The opportunity to be part of the bank is a huge one and has so much potential. There are also so many sectors within the bank, some you may not even realise exist! RBS is a good employer and offers many opportunities.
