I am an engineering apprentice that is currently rotating around the factory to get a feel for what Siemens does. The My main tasks daily are to attend meetings for my selected area, and to also look after a certain part of the business called the Junior Factory.
I have gained many new skills as I am working with people from different backgrounds to myself, and learning how to communicate with these people.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme as it is extremely varied as to what I do each day. I have my core responsibilities which will be increased upon with time.
I feel highly valued by Siemens as they look after our wellbeing as well as making our working life as smooth as possible. They value our opinions now matter how new to the company that we are, and they push us to be better individuals every day.
The organisation gone into my apprenticeship schedule is fantastic, as it has it's own leaders to look after the apprentices/graduates. As well as having head's of the apprentice department, each apprentice has a sponsor to make sure that they are being looked after and treated well.
All of my training providers are well tuned up to what I would like and what training I need to be put through. They make the process as easy as possible and will help me with any questions I have.
Siemens themselves are very supportive of the apprentices/graduates, and my managers and colleagues are always more than happy to help.
The salary for first year apprentice at Siemens is very good and suits me well considering I have had to relocate to work there. The salary also increases after each financial year.
There are lots of opportunities to grasp at when being involved with Siemens. Whether it be work related, charity based or something for your personal life outside of work. Siemens has a large community-like spirit.
Yes
Siemens are a large company that like to look after their employers and treat them with respect. They have a "No blame culture" which is seen throughout each department in the business, therefore the environment is always positive.
Make sure you are clued up on what the business does and make sure you are interested in the subject. Most importantly, be enthusiastic! They love enthusiastic people who are willing to add to the company to make it even greater.
