I was given tasks relating to what a trainee solicitor would do such as research and filling in forms. I learned what each team did and experienced what each would do. I had the ability to interact with other workers and ask them questions. I also got to experience what a court is like and what they do.
I have learnt about how professional businesses work and what they do each day. I have learned what lawyers do and the many different sectors they can be involved in. I have learned about new computer programs and how to act in business meetings which will help me in the future
I enjoyed working in a team and being able to talk to others in this team. I enjoyed the experience of working in a real office where I had to have the right mind-set and etiquette . I enjoyed the atmosphere of the Aberdeen office, especially the people as they are all very friendly and approachable.
I feel valued as I helped to complete fact files for example which helped as basics for the rest of the team. I also feel valued as everyone talked to me and communicated in a kind but professional way.
They were very organised with their talks and induction. All the trainees talked to us separately about the different groups in the firm and how they did and answered any questions we had. I also had the ability to attend a team meeting for reviewing what they had done which was very professional and organised. All the tasks I was given were explained to me well so that I could complete the task without confusion.
She was very helpful and guided way in anyway that she could to help me understand the tasks. She is very friendly and seemed happy to answer any question that I had. I very much enjoyed working with my training provider as she gave me relevant work and corrections.
The office manager provided us with an introduction and was very useful and she helped me with IT training and forms. She was also very friendly.
It was close to the city centre so easily accessible. The firm has offered to reimburse travel money. We also got free lunch which meant we didn't have to worry.
There are many opportunities for staff events which Pinsent Masons advertise. Its also close to any public areas.
Yes
It was a great experience which I have benefitted from and will continue to. It lets younger people to experience profession work life and interact with different people and get a feel for jobs. It also looks good on a CV for future employers.
To add all the information you can to the application form. To dress smart and definitely a good idea to research the company before applying to find out background information.
