the role i will achevive after my apprenticeship will be a fitters role. where i will have significant knowledge of how a substation works and be able to carry out work and maintance on HV equiptment.
I have developed my learning techniques both in a classroom and on site for example being in a classroom learning about principles and maths aand then being on site and learning about what tools do what job.
i enjoy my programme because i am always learning and i am well looked after at eakring and is a great oppurtuniy that i have been given.
I feel vauled by national grid because the company need more apprentices because alot of people are coming out of their time now and they need young people to feel the shoes of those who have worked on the sites for 40+ years.
my programme is very well planned and i have access to the whole of this years timetable and to next years too. im always aware of courses and when and where they will take place.
we receive alot of support from our trainers they offer more help and single out those who are not as confidnet or as familiar with activites and gets everyone on the same page.
my employer is very supportive there is extra learning support available if we need it and if we have queries and problems we know who to talk to get our issues solved.
my salary is more than satisfactory for a 1st year apprentice and as well all my travel is paid for by my employer.
not that i am aware of.
