Support associate within PwC. On a daily basis I work to other teams in different parts of transaction services helping to pull together deal tools and various other items for a report.
As part of the apprenticeship we do a Diploma in assurance and audit as well as CFAB qualification which helps you become part qualified and you can go on to complete your Acca when finished the apprenticeship. As well as doing these qualifications I have increased my communication skills a lot because you get used to talking to people esspecially of a more senior level on a daily basis. Because of this communication I have without a doubt become a lot more confident than I used to be.
I enjoy the work I do on a daily basis. I also enjoy the team I work with I get on well with most members of my team and the office has a great atmosphere.
The appreciation we receieve varies from project to project but overall any work or overtime that is put into a project your hard work is appreciated.
I feel the programme is well structured and I have definitely seen it improve in the year below me as well. The more experienced management get with running the programme everything else definitely improves. There is a good lengthy induction which helps to get you settled within PwC as well as covering what you will be doing throughout the apprenticeship.
We get very good materials for all of our exams and we get tutors who come in and take classes for each exam. The tutor that takes the class is alwsys contactable after the classes and will support you through mocks and help with past paper questions.
From our employer we receive a lot of support. Any problems there is always someone you can contact to help you. At the start of your apprenticeship you are assigned a buddy who can help you out with any questions you may have about work, hr, other activities and they will always be happy to help and they become an invaluable asset esspecially during your first few months.
Our Salary meets living costs perfectly. I was able to move out form my parents house and can afford to rent in the city centre as well as covering other costs that are needed. Living in the city centre even though it is higher rent its great because you can walk to work and it cuts out any travel costs you may have. On top of these living expenses I am able to afford a good social life. We also get a great benefits package and a good amount of holidays. I was worried when joining PwC that I would miss the holidays at School but you can have up to 40 holiday days a year which is great.
There are plenty of opportunities outside of work for socilising and sporting activities and volunteering. There are big office wide events almost every quarter, including a black tie dinner in December. We also have a day a year where everyone in the firm goes and volunteers for a charity and we raise money for a frim charity throughout the year. We also have a vairety of sports teams, such as golf, football, running club. And yoga and zumba classes on 12 week cycles.
Yes
I would recommend to a friend as the experience of my higher apprenticeship has been amazing. I have enjoyed working in such a large firm and it has been great to meet a variety of new people and make great friends all without having to get into a lot of debt going to university.I have developed a lot of new skills and gained experience that will be invaluable in furthering my career.
When applying, make sure you put any experience you have of working in teams, organisation, coaching, any of those sorts of skills that dont necessarily have to be in a professional enviroment just try to draw from any past experience you have. Do plenty of resaerch on the core competencys on PwC website and make notes using the experiences you have had. For the interview ensure you have done plenty of reasearch on the role you are applying for and what the business service you are applying to does. And are well read up on the core competencies as this is the sort of thing the interviewer will base his questions around.
