At the minute, as an apprentice, I spend a lot of time at the training centre in Eakring learning new skills that will benefit my role when I qualify. I also spend some time on site where I work with my team to carry out maintanence work on the electrical assets such as circuit breakers.
Yes, I've learnt many new skills such as LV wiring and developed engineering manufacturing and general maintanence techniques/skills.
I enjoy the programme very much.

My programme is very well organised, we are given a yearly timetable that is very reliable and if changes are made, we are informed and can view an updated version.
A lot of support. There is always someone to talk to whether it be on site or at the training centre, everyone is very useful.

Very well, at an apprentice wage, the salary is very good and our transport costs are covered and reimbursed by the company.

I feel that as far as careers go, National Grid is a very safe and enjoyable company to work for, it is such an exciting time to work for them too, there are many oportunities and you are very valued.
Go for it. I joined and havent looked back since, been a great expirience so far.
