GTAM Mechanical Apprentice: Working on the gas pipelines and the compressor station.
I have learnt a lot of new skills which are vital for the future when working for National Grid. The skills are things like, good communication and able to work in a team. I have learnt a lot of skills particular to my job role such as on the gas skids.
The programme provides good training for us so we will be able to work with knowledge when i finish my apprenticeship.
I feel very valued working for National Grid and I feel as I am part of the team.
The programme has changed several times inthroughout the year but the programme manager has been able to make changes to the programme to suit needs of the aprentices.
I recieve a lot of support from the training provider, the give me a lot of oppertunities to ask questions and to seek advice and help.
I recieve plenty of support from my employeer and I feel I can go to my manager if I had a problem or if I needed any advice.
The salary we recieve is very good and is more than other apprenticeships.
Yes,there is time to do activities outside of work.

National Grid provide adequate training that is vital and very useful for future work. National Grid offer a lot of support to employees to make them feel valued.
