I help out in the Sustainable Business and Communications Global Campaigns Team. I help out the team with Ad-Hoc duties in addition to my own responsibilities including helping out with Webcasts for the Leadership Team, running a weekly email, coordinating the website to make sure it is always up to date. Also help with getting information out to colleagues within the wider function. Update the distribution list, organising events for the company and helping out with site communications.
I have learnt to manage my time a lot more effectively. Prioritise workload so everything gets completed in a timely manner. I have developed my computer literacy skills in addition to enhancing my attention to detail. Other qualifications that I will gain from this will be the Functional Skills ICT skills in addition to the Business Management Advanced Level 3 qualification.
The work can be interesting and the team are very welcoming. The company is aware of their company values and ethics.
I feel valued by the company however feel that they overlook my experience in other areas that could make the running of their company more effective.
The induction was well structured. Training is readily available however unfortunately you have to be qualified as an employee of Unilever and so I am unable to participate. The support from ADA is very good and makes studying easy. I feel like there is a good support system and have a buddy to help if there is anything wrong. Task delegation is done well. The programme is well organised
There is a lot of support from my advisor and if I need help with anything she gives me a lot of guidance. Overall I am enjoying the experience.
There is adequate support from the team and mentors. The support is easy to access and there is good overall general support from everyone.
Travel Costs can become expensive however it is manageable. Daily costs are good. Social costs can be difficult. It would be good to have our travel costs paid for by the company.
There are lots of company events and company activities. Location is convenient and a gym is on site in all locations meaning that your physical wellbeing can be accommodated.
Yes
The application process can be daunting. I would advise others applying to be confident and themselves. The assessment day can test your knowledge and lateral thinking so listen carefully to what they ask of you. I would have liked to have been told more about what I would be doing on a day to day basis and be given a clearer view of what my job role would be.
