My role as an apprentice is to maintain repair and inspect substation equipment. I spend a lot of my time at Eakring training centre and on site gaining on job experience.
Yes I am currently doing City 7 Guilds leve;l 3 in transmission and distribution
I enjoy this programme, I would of liked to of spent more time on site in the first year but also undertsand that certain training has to be done at Eakring
I feel valued By national Grid. They have invested a lot of money and time into me.
It is well organised and I can plan my time well
I recieve support when its needed, I am always asked on my reviews if I need support.

Yes there are however with other work we have to do outside of work I havent had time to take aprt in such events.

The combination of on job work and qualifications you can aquire offers you a good future.
National Grid are looking for inteeligent people but also people who can work well in a team with a good perosnality.
