The first day I sat through various presentations that I found useful as they stated clearly what would be expected of me throughout my time at Pinsent Masons and some of the tasks I could do. For the rest of the week I had a presentation or workshop in the morning which gave me useful information and skills, in the afternoons I was assigned to a trainee who would show me their department, introduce me to the people who worked there and then gave me work to do that gave me an experience of that branch of law.
I participated in a networking workshop which gave me helpful tips and confidence in communicating with new people. I learned how to do case summaries and witness statements as well as cataloguing case boxes and how to set up a company. I also got to assist researching actual cases which gave me useful skills for when I get to pursue a career in law
I enjoyed my week very much. Each day was different with varied activities most of which I enjoyed. Overall I would jump at the chance to participate in this programme again
Everyone is friendly and welcoming. I feel the limited amount of work I done was valued and I was made aware that people appreciated my help and the work I done.
We were given a clear schedule before our placements and this was stuck to perfectly. Each presentation and workshop was well delivered and planned. Each department I got to visit had a clear idea of the work I could do and set me plenty of tasks
The trainee I was with each day was good. Each one was more than happy to help with any questions about the work, their department or law in general.
The welcome pack given on the first day proved more than useful throughout the week and further information was given to me should I wish to return to the firm in the future. (which I do)
N/A- unpaid work experience. As this was work experience I wasn't paid but lunch was paid for each day in the form of a £5 voucher to be used in the canteen which got me a whole hot meal and cake afterwards.
I didn't get the chance as I was only there for a week to do work experience but through talking to trainees I am aware there are plenty of opportunities outwith work such as sports teams and pub quizzes
Yes
I really enjoyed my time here and would be more than willing to return. Pinsent Masons is a great environment to work in, everyone is friendly and welcoming.
