Job title, Formulation Apprentice. Making, testing and developing Unilever's deodorants against competitors to gain superiority. Currently working on making a new testing method of Rheology for Roll ons to understand their structure better and what affects the structure.
I'm gaining a degree in Chemistry whilst doing this apprenticeship. Learning to work in a team and being more confident in myself to ask questions and act upon tasks given to me.
I enjoy the work and the team that I'm working with. The company culture is very diverse and I love to learn about where people come from and what their background is. I enjoy the brand Ethos that I work for too as it rings very true for me! It has exceeded my expectations.
I feel valued in the work that I do alone... Work that I do in a group is hard to feel completely valued for. But I am also part of some sub teams that are to make the working environment more comfortable and friendly and I feel very valued in this respect!
The induction and training was very well structured and I did all the training that was necessary to me within the first few weeks of working here. The only thing that isn't amazingly well structured is the university, but that has nothing to do with the company. Unilever has started to help me with uni also when things aren't getting done
There is a lot of support on offer at Unilever... And many people make themselves available for you if you're struggling. I've found many people that I can go to with my problems - whether they're work problems or personal.
My line manager is incredibly supportive and she is one of the people that will sit and make time for me to tell her my problems.
Perfectly and beyond! I'm finding it very easy to make ends meet and have a big savings account too (I'm good with money though)... Every year I get a pay rise and I look forward to having more to put in my savings for a house!
There are many activities outside work, from work events to sports events that anyone can join
Yes
It's a company that will look after you in both a professional and personal sense.
Be yourself in your application. Make sure your personality shines through. Unilever doesn't care as much about grades, but about how well you can work in a team as there is where most of the work will come from. Same applies to the interview.
