Trainee Merchandiser, stock control and ensure suppliers meet deadlines so we get stock in store at the right time for our customers. Team meeting to discuss supplier issues we may face (late deliveries issue with garments). Online project to interpret trade and help business be more intergrated with this multi channel way for our customers and forus to have a better understanding of them. I review new lines to launch, intake, supplier issues are all reviewed daily.
internal training has allowed me to become much more confident on softwares such as excel, i have also had presentation training to build knowledge of what makes a good presentation. I have developed transferable skills with talking to new people and building relationships internally with my team and externally with our suppliers.
Company culture, lots of way to feel motivated at work e.g. early finish fridays, lunch area outside. I enjoy my program as it allows me the oppotunity to socialise with people i may not have had the chance to if not on the scheme.
I feel valued, as my team see me as an employee not a school leaver and they give me the responsibility that other trainees recieve.
Very structured with us being out of the office every 2 weeks, our managers respect our scheme.
I recieve some support but feel it mostyl comes from our side. If we need support we have to push this through. There are a lot of people around that would provide support when needed.
HR very little, the team recently changed but we do not have much contact with them. Manager and I have regular 1-2-1 which allows me to voice and issues and she is very supportive and understanding of my current posiiton on the scheme with regards to having college work ontop of work.
Travel costs for me are high as I commute into work everyday. I also pay bills and social/daily costs means i rely on my pay. The package doe smeet my needs.
There are sport clubs avaliableto us through work and voluntary initatives. However i have not taken part in these as i live an hour away from work they do not benefit me, i would enjoy more company events and internal activities.
Yes
Very good oppotunities across the business.
Push your career as you re the voice of your decisions if you want something then you need to grab it as its a very big company to be heard in. The interviewing process is very intnese but builds you as a person and highlights areas you may need to work on which in the long run is very benifical to you.
