I am a business apprentice currently in a project management placement. I am part of a team in sustainment so on a day-to-day basis I undertake business support activities to sustain the companies products for the customer.
Whilst working for BAE Systems, I have learnt multiple skills such as interpersonal skills, how to use software and certain programmes. As a person I have also gained a lot, I have got a lot more self confidence and learnt how to work in a business environment.
I feel the programme I am on is very good, although at times it can be challenging trying to work and complete college work. I feel the programme I am on is highly beneficial and I couldn't vision a better opportunity to future my career.
in some businesses they may think of apprentices as not being as useful as most employees within the company. But, at BAE Systems they acknowledge each employees strengths and think of apprentices as a key part of the company - the future of the business.
It is very logical and well structured, however at times it is hard to understand how some pieces of work set relate to your working life. Having said this, the programme is helping me gain a lot more knowledge which I use daily in the work place.
My training provide is very good at supporting my in regards to my work and my NVQ/training tasks set. I feel there is no issue when asking for help from my training provider as they are always willing to help and sort any issues out.
My employer is highly supportive with work I need to undertake in regards to my apprenticeship as work I undertake is to further my understanding in areas which shall be used within the company in my future career.
I feel my salary is suitable for my age and knowledge about the company.
BAE Systems provide apprentices with many enrichment opportunities, whether it is helping the local community, working in other countries or educating other people in schools etc. Within BAE there are no boundaries as each opportunity expands that individuals knowledge.
