My current role is working in Site and Facilities. I'm an admin support for the Head of Site and Facilities and 6 Line Managers. I would closely with the accomomodation manager providing Project Management experience. I really love it.
I have really developed my organisation skills. Working in such a busy department it would be difficult if i wasnt organised. I have also developed my confidence skills as i can talk to people without getting nervous. The apprenticeship has really helped me find myself.
I throughly enjoy the programme. The work is challenging but exciting. As a school leaver myself I really reccomend the programme to anyone considering a carrer in BAE Systems Maritime Submarines. It is the place to be.
All the work that I carry out on a daily basis is important to the prodcution of a submarine. I feel very strongly valued by the company as they put my through my training so I can be the best employee i can be.
My programme isnt structured very well as the programme i started in 2014 was a new NVQ for Business Management. However we have worked really well on eradicaing any problems as best we can.
I reciever excellant support from my NVQ Assesor, my Project Leader and my line manager. I know that if i have any problems I can go to them for the support.
BAE Systems are a great employer when it comes to support. If you need anything at all they will try there best to help you out. They have onsite occupational health if it is needed.
The pay I am on is one of best in the Cumbria with regards to apprenticeship. We are way above minimum wage and we get regualr pay increases. You dont have to worry about money as much when you work in BAE.
There are many outside work oppotunities to get involved in that BAE help with. K2B, D&I Quiz, apprentice night. BAE help fund alot of these activities that we are able to get involved in.
Yes
BAE is a great employer. They help better yourself as a person and grow up into a really mature adult. They also provide all out training so we can get really good qualifications for our future.
If in doubt look on the BAE website. It is really good to look on there for interview information. It tell you alot about the company and what their values are.
