  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as a Trainee Insurance Technician, my daily tasks include processing the documentations of insurance policies and creating the invoices that are sent out to clients. Internally I interact with colleagues in London, Denmark and the US, externally i deal with clients in Spain, Mexico and other Southern American countries. My responsibilities include making sure that the turnaround of private client risks are withing 24hrs and to make sure that corporate client policies are dealt with promptily.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Whilst undertaking my apprenticeship i feel that i have mainly developed my communication, time management and teamwork skills whilst learning how to use a multitude of bespoke software systems within my business unit. internal and external training courses include E&O, Sanctions, Positive compliance and E-Learning.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed my apprenticeship a lot. Both the team i am in and the cluture of the company has been an enjoyable experiance for me and i look forward to many more years working in the environment i am in.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by WTW?
  • I feel that I am a valued member of my team and that my involvement in day to day tasks is very good. I am enjoying working as a team to reach an objective, for example the E-Learning programme carried out which involved contacting underwriters and creating new bussiness for our BU

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that the orgaisation and sturcture of the programme that i was on was very good and well thought out, I feel that i have accomplished everything that was set out for me at the beginning of the apprenticeship.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I feel that my training provider provided all the support i needed whenever i asked for it, especially in the run up to my IF1 exam. It was very easay to get in contact and arrange a meeting in order to get the hel and support needed.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been a constant source of support, knowledge and general tuition throughout my apprenticeship, i feel that i have learnt a lot from them dureing my programme and I feel that there is even more to learh, i am excited to continue my ongoing training so as to be the best that i can be within my BU.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I feel that my Salary is very well suited to my costs which I am very happy about.

  • Yes, there are many social events within my team that help to build the team bond and closeness of the group.

  • Yes

  • it is a great company to work for. They look after their employees to an extreamy high standard. I would recommend working for Willis to anyone who asked.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
  • If you are lloking for a job at Willis i would recomend applying as soon as you see the advert. It is imperitive that you present yourself well in interviews as first impressions are everything.
