I am a electrical apprentice and I am working on getting my qualifications such as my PEO and the maths that I will need to be an electrician
I have learnt many new skills so far like my new qualifications for the maths I will need and also my electric and electronic principles. I have also done my health and safety and my awareness courses
I enjoy my programme a lot as I am learning lots of new skills every day. the company is very good and the people I work with is very helpful and are helping me improve every day.
I feel valued at BAE, as an apprentice my voice is still heard and my opinion matters, if I feel there is a problem people will listen and fix things if needed
the organisation isn't the best as we have moved from one building to a brand new building and there has been some problems as we were the first people in it, apart from that it has been good.
I receive a lot of support from my training providers and they are very skilled in what they do, this means they can pass on there skills to me and help me improve
I receive a lot of support from my employer, if I have a problem I can go to them and they will be able to help me, this is good because I can then go to them if I have any problems in the future
my salary is very good, as a 16 year old who has just left school it is really good to be able to learn while earning money, the money I earn easily covers my costs
there is a lot of opportunities outside of work, there are opportunities to represent the company at different events and activities around Portsmouth.
Yes
because the company has provided highly skilled instructors who have helped me learn a lot of new skills in such a short space of time and I think I will be able to help the company back in a few years once I am fully abled
make sure you do your best because the company is really good and as long as you concentrate you will be paid back by learning a lot of things
