On a daily basis my role involves communicating with stakeholders. The attendance of meetings in order to provide clarity and answers. The production of project management documents.
I have gained a higher apprentice qualification, Health and Safety Training, training in all used project control toolsets. I am also working towards my degree in Project Management.
I enjoy the programme, the combination of learning through our college day release and the on the job experience in our placements throughout the week is invaluable.
Within BAE Systems there is the ability to achieve awards and recognition through the business and through stretch assignments, for example I won the APM challenge which was then recognised through our monthly magazine report.
The programme is well structured, with regular meetings and with our placement managers and our early careers manager. We also have LfE sessions where we can input any improvement ideas to the scheme.
Our college tutor is very efficient at replying to our emails and supporting us with regular meetings. We are always encouraged to book 1 to 1 meetings if we have an problems or for general catch ups.
We have regular 1 to 1 meetings with our manager and also with our placement manager to discuss our performance. We also have group meetings so feel very supported by the company.
We have a fairly competitive salary, which is currently suitable for general living costs. our salary has just been applied to a new framework, whereby it will go up every year.
There are various opportunities outside of work, including some stretch assignments with schools etc that we can get involved in. There is also a good social element with our programme whereby we arrange Christmas meals and other social events together.

The company aims to provide on going continuous learning, with various qualifications. It provides a good pension scheme and there are lots of opportunities in the business to excel and thrive.
Ensure that even if you haven't been directly involved in projects you have at some point been in control of time, cost, quality and scope so if you can think of examples where you have had to control a budget to a specific time etc then use that as an example in your interview.
