Learning the skills within the placements and completing work that skilled workers have to complete by shadowing them whilst doing the work under their supervision. for example, machining, I would run the machine and programme it however the skilled operator will double check it is correct prior to undertaking the task.
General machining skills improved hand fitting skills improved many training courses completed on different machines people skills improved programming skills learnt
I really enjoy my apprenticeship, two days are never the same. I look forward to coming into work in the morning.
I feel very valued as there are plenty of tasks I can do and I am quite often asked to do some of these. that shows that I am doing a good job and they are valuing the work I am doing.
there is a plan in place for my training however due to some issues like security access, holidays and the nature of some jobs it is difficult to follow however it is mostly on track.
there is lots of support as we are kept constantly in touch and he is easy to get hold of and will be able to help us out and come see us at a moments notice
theres also lots of support from the employer as there are constant sessions taking place to see how we are getting on and whether we are enjoying it or not.they are very happy to change something if its not going well for us.
The salary is good enough and is quite generous however could always be improgved.
yes there are always emails about activities to take part in, for example I am going to Germany on an exchange trip in a few months
