My job title is 'Typhoon Project Control' for detail manufacturing. This involves monitoring the spend, performance and achievement for two 'sheds' across site for fabrications and machining. I am always communicating to stakeholders and have weekly responsibilities to update files which are used by multiple people.
I am always learning and developing new skills and I am also an education ambassador. In my placement it is essential to develop new skills such as interpretation, understanding of the work and machining processes and computing skills.
My team that I work with are all lovely and have made me feel very welcome, the company culture is incredible and working in this industry just makes everything more exciting. It has most definitely exceeded my expectations.
I do feel very valued. You often here senior managers in the business saying that the new apprentices are the future to the company.
My programme is very well organised with two very good scheme leaders. We had a thorough induction week and there is always training and support if needed. It has been very well organised and I know who to go to if I need help.
I receive a lot of support if needed, we have ethics leaders who help or support us if we have any problems or just need anyone to speak to.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. There are opticians, physiotherapists and many other professional health cares on site if needed.
Very well. It covers my travel cost, a safe car, social costs and living costs.
Yes there are many. These include company events and activities, there are always volunteering opportunities being broadcast and there are sports and leisure classes outside of work.
Yes
It is an incredible company to work for and offers you so many opportunities. It really makes you feel special working in such a large, aerospace company and everybody counts.
Be honest in your application, emphasise how much being able to work as a team is important and any skills that show that you are able to work well in a team or be able to lead a team. It is very important that you do a lot of extra curriculum activities as well.
