I work in a variety of 6 month placements on a rotary scheme, work can vary to include managing projects related to build process, boat test and commisioning activities to working with supporting legislation and reglations.
I have developed my social skills a lot as the work place relies heavily on working and co-operating with other people, I have also learnt a lot about the technical functions of submarines and nuclear reactors
Some placements are excellent as they fully intergrate you in to the team whereas some other placements can be slow when there is not a lot of work on
Again, some placement do a better job of making you feel part of the team than others where as some use you as more of a resource
The scheme is well organised from a high level perspective and allows everyone to get an equal chance at development
Personally I do not feel like I have needed/asked for much support so therefor could not judge however from what I have seen my training advisor is very suportive if you are struggling
Personally I do not feel like I have needed/asked for much support so therefor could not judge however from what I have seen the company as a whole is very suportive if you are struggling
The salary/package is very comfortable and is probably the best I know of for people joining a company after A-Levels
There is much scope for attending out of work events such as conferences (getting to know the wider industry community) and also partaking in company run events that happen throughout the year
Yes
It is a very competetive scheme and probably the best around in terms of the entry level that is required
Do your research before hand and make sure you know exactly what you want before going in for it, once you know, be confident with your decision
