My role is as a production engineer / process engineer, this entails supporting the production of PCB's and creating planning for new and existing boards, it also entails the maintenance and operation of machinery.
I have learned a lot of new skills! ranging from technical skills such as soldering to conformal coating all the way to personal skills like hosting meetings and communicating effectively with co-workers.
I enjoy the program quite a lot as it offered me the opportunity to 'earn as you learn', this was appealing to me because it is a brilliant way to get your foot in the door of your professional life.
I feel very valued by the company, it has invested a lot of time and money into my progression into a full time engineer, they have catered for me all along the way.
The programme is very well structured, it has a fully planned out three year schedule where we obtain all of the training we need as well as real engineering experience.
My training provider supports my education very well, he is dedicated to the role and always has good constructive input to give on how to improve in the future.
my employer supports me very well, they are there when I need them and they are always happy to hep and they are also leaving me to be independent so I have the engineering experience with my own input so I'm not spoon-fed the entire way.
I live relatively nearby so travel is not too much of an issue on the cost front, we all wish we could be paid more but realistically the salary I receive isn't bad at all.
there are always outside events advertised within the company to support employee wellbeing, we also have made deals with places like local gyms / leisure centres etc. to ensure a good lifestyle outside of work as well as in.
Yes
they are a fantastic company to work for who if you put in the effort they will return, they supply training in a great trade which is vital to progression in the world and look after you as much as they can and all they ask is that you try your best.
the application process seems daunting, however take it one small step at a time and it is nice and easy, the system is not there to catch you out, it is there to ensure that we get a full idea of who you are as a potential employee as well as a person.
