Within the Apprenticeship, you are advised to change job roles every six months to give you a wide range of experience which is an excellent opportunity. So far I have worked in Security and Testing. In my current role daily tasks include preparation of test cases/scripts; execution of test cases/scripts and updating test cases/scripts as a result of defects raised.
I have learned a large variety of new skills and developed my existing skills. IBM offer a large range of internal training courses and also give you the opportunity to go to external training courses.
The IBM Apprenticeship is excellent opportunity which I would highly recommend! It exceeded my expectations.
Although IBM is a global organisation, I still feel very valued due to the number of smaller organisations/projects within the company.
In your first two weeks of the company, you attend an induction course to prepare you before you start work on a project. There is lots of support and mentoring within the company.
You get given a Personal Development Manager, they give you advice and guidance with any problems etc.
The IBM Apprenticeship scheme pays a higher salary than any other apprenticeship that I seen myself. If you work away from your base location, travel and living costs are covered.
