Working with teams around the delivery unit to get an insight into what goes on within the departments within Network Rail
Skills are developed on a day to day basis and new skills are learnt which are invaluable and help to grow as an individual within the role
The programme is highly enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to start a career as you gain qualifications whilst in the workplace gaining skills and being paid at the same time to do so.
I have been welcomed into my role by everyone I have worked with, I have noticed that apprentices are valued very highly within the company and are set on a clear path of development to become the future of the railway.
The programme has a very clear and organised structure in terms of learning and development where placements can be arranged to take part in jobs across the railway where you can inherit invaluable experiences.
The support received is excellent as I have experienced when it comes to carrying out the job and the training aspects that come with the apprenticeship when writing the reports which go towards the qualifications
Network Rail as a company are very support where they have so many different departments which can help with a variety of things from placements to workplace support
For an apprenticeship in general, the salary is above most of the other apprenticeships out there and there is the chance to earn more through working night shifts and the occasional overtime shifts
There are opportunities everywhere which suit many needs and are easily accessible to anyone wishing to do so
Yes
The skills gained whilst working and training towards the qualifications at the same time are invaluable and the fact that you can start building a career for yourself is highly satisfying
No matter what your background is there is always space as they look to develop individuals from all aspects of life
