On a day-to-day basis my job role involves the calibration of a range of test and measurement tools and equipment. I am maninly calibrating mechanical pieces of equiptment, the calibration of electrical equipment also takes place.
I have learnt many new skills as I had never taken part in any calibration before my job. but I have also built on existing skills I have such as, responsibility, accuracy and confidence.
I enjoy my programme very much. It has provided me with many oppotunities to build up and learn many new skills, as well as gain handson experience while I am still in training.
I feel valued by BAE Systems as there is always people there for support when you need it, and when you don't. Everyone is very approachable and makes you feel as though what you are doing is important.
The programme I am taking part in is well organised as I work to a scheduled timetable which is regularly updated. I halso have 12 week reviews that allow myself and a mentor to discuss my programme and how I am getting on.
Where I work provides as much support as I need. If there is something someone can do to help me, they will be more than happy to do so, not only with my on the job training, but with my academic work too.
BAE Systems offers a lot of support for apprentices. There are a number of people I can ask for help or support and they would be happy to do so. BAE Systems also provide support by providing a structured apprentice programme.
I think my salary defintely meets my costs. The salary I recieve is a very good salary for someone of my age and I am more than happy with it.
I think there are more oppotunities inside work rather than out of work as that is where my job is taking place. the oppotunities come up when I am in work.
Yes
The apprenticeship programme has so far been successful for me. I am recieveing on the job training which I think is very important as you can see exactly how your job is done and be the best you can be at it.
Make sure you know exactly what job role you want and why. It is important to go in to a job you know you will enjoy and to be determind and work hard.
