The apprenticeship is varied in terms of daily tasks but the core of each of my placements is planning and control. Managing supply and demand of engine parts through talking to suppliers in a buy environment, or being physically in a factory in a make environment.
My scheme allows me to complete a Level 5 NVQ in Supply Chain Management, as well as a Bachelors degree in Business Management & Leadership. I learn new business skills every day and learning from university modules has direct application to the workplace which is great.
very much!
Extremely. Although sometimes objectives require influencing without direct authority this allows development of my skills and Rolls-Royce doesn't shy away from giving apprentices full responsibility if they are capable.
placements are laid out for me and a development plan is followed through careful management.
Block study weeks for university provide the learning but like a full time university student much of my study is self directed with guidance from mentors available if needed.
Support in all manners is fantastic. Health care, professional development and all manor of services are available to me.
My pay is low for a full time employee but considering the benefits and a staggered pay increase scheme based on university and NVQ completion, its not something to complain about. Shared housing the wage would suffice.
Being a large company there are a multitude of activities and clubs organised.
Yes
