Project Management Higher Apprentice Daily Tasks and responsibilities change regularly as we change placements every 6 months and people want you to learn as much as you can during that time. Generally we are given small projects to run or are involved in small part of a large project. Depending on what area of the business you are in you get to talk to external suppliers, but internally you get to work with world class expertise in there profession from project managers to engineers to finance to sales. we also get the opportunity to talk to other employees from all around the world and if you are lucky you will get to visit them.
yeah I am currently gaining a degree in project management which is all completely new skills, I am able to work on my communication and negotiation skills. I am also learning more about engineering within a different sector.
I absolutely love my work, I enjoy what I get to be involved in with being a Project management apprentice, generally the teams you get to work in are amazing and friendly and over all the culture of the company is open and honest and allows you to speak freely and progress easily.
I do feel valued by my company in most of my placements, I see when I put in hard work and feel like I have added value it is recognised and appreciated.
the programme is still in its early stages that it isn't great and everything isn't completely clear but the help and support offered out weighs the negatives of the programme.
The training provider for the foundation degree is extremely poor
the support is second to none I have never has this much support from work my entire life. I didn't even get the support I get from Rolls-Royce from school.
the salary we get is brilliant to say we are only apprentices and it does go up every year. I am able to pay all my house and personal bills with the pay we get.
there are loads of opportunities out side of work we have the agA that offers the University social life, we have community projects and STEM that we can get involved in. There are also many other clubs that you can join football/rugby/scuba diving/running/swimming.
Yes
Because I love my job and it is a brilliant company to work for!
Make sure you CV is up to date with all your recent activities sport/voluntary/charity what ever it doesn't have to be engineer related. Do not mention Cars on your application form, keep practicing your online tests until you are happy with them before you complete your proper ones. On you interview day remember you are always being judged even on your dinner break so make sure you network with the assessors on the day because they will remember you. Most of all make sure you know what you are applying for and are interested in the job!
