I am training to be a Project manager and currently in a placement with the project support co-coordinators which means I attend meetings regarding scoping a store etc. Whilst doing admin to ensure stakeholders are kept up to date.
I have learnt many skills through work experience and attending the college workshops. Such as presentation skills.
I really enjoy going to the meetings and engaging with the different stakeholders.
The Co-Op is known for its morals and ethics and there has been a push recently and from the start the managers were very nice.
As myself and the two apprentices were the first to join the estates team there was a lack of structure especially with the link to college.
We have monthly catch ups with our training provider in which we review progress of coursework and are set objectives for the next meetings. We also have 5 workshops in the course.
The support from the employer is very good with regular catch ups both formal and informal and opportunities to have meetings with mentors.
The Salary is good
There are many opportunities outside of work such as the young people board and charity days
Yes
I feel there is a lot of potential progress as it is a large organisation.
I would say just be yourself as that is what I did and fortunately got the role. I went through several processes to narrow the it down to myself and two apprentices however I am unsure if this is the general procedure for the co-op or if it was a one off
