Arrive at college and throughout the week partake in practical engineering tasks and such. On Mondays and fridays classroom work is done including ERR, PLTS and functional skills.
Ive have been able to learn a range of different skills here at my apprenticeship which i can use once i go fully in to the business and the yard.
I enjoy my programme very much as it allows me to learn new skills whilst also making friends at college that may last all the way through my apprenticeship.
I feel extremely valued at BAE systems because we are the next generation in ship building and because of that we are looked upon very highly by others. BAE values its apprentices massivly and provide the some of the best training offerable.
The structure of the programme that i am doing is very well made as every section is split into different parts which make it easier to take in and understrand which allows you to apply it to your own work better.
We recieve support throughout the whole programme and if you are in need of more help or support it will be provided if you just ask. If you find that you do not fully understand something or need help with it then support will be provided to show you.
Support is also given out from the employer if it is needed and all you need to do is ask. If you have any difficulties or problems that college cannot help with then 9 times out of ten the employer should be able to help you if you open up about the peoblem with them.
The salary that i am provided with meets my costs very well as i am a school leaver and the money that i recieve is more than enough as i have few bills to pay.
There are many events that happen outside of the workplace such as sporting events and also voluntary events that can be attended by anyone and everyone.
Yes
BAE Systems is an excellent oppotunity for anybody as they are incredibly supportive and will provide a good structured salary to those that are compatent enough to work.
Plan for your apptitude tests and plan for your interview. Do your research on the company and get to know a little bit about everything that you can. Dress well and provide a good interview for your interviewer and yourself.
