I spend a lot of time out on client's sites auditing their accounts
Yes, I have become a lot more confident when talking to clients and my finance/commercial knowledge has increased significantly
It is a really good programme if you like to learn. The programme met my expectations but becoming fully qualified does feel a long way away.
All trainees have a lot of involvement in day to day work. I don't feel that there is enough internal recognition.
The induction phase is very well organised. The work place is also well structured however the dates of the exams are not always communicated early enough which makes it difficult to make arrangements as you may double book with an exam!
The assesors are good and keep in contact on a regular basis. They spend a lot of time reviewing your work and alays make sure there you have no issues in the workplace
The counselling managers are very good and the whole firm is supportive when it comes to work. The qualification team could do better when it comes to the studying part of the job.
On my salary I have been able to move out into the city at the age of 19 which is really good experience. Although you are expected to work a lot of hours in the industry so I certainly would not say anyone is overpaid.
The team is quite sociable. Whilst there are lot of company social events such as the national football tournament and local drinks, the team also arrange drinks between themselves which is a nice thing to do on a Friday evening.
Yes
The experience is really good and if you are sure you want to be a chartered accountant then being fully qualified at the age of 23 will be a very good headstart.
