On a day-to-day basis I could be carrying out a number of tasks. These include; manual work onboard the boats, working with the use of technical documents and drawings and workshop based craft skills. This role enables me to see, learn and try new work methods and develop my skillset.
New skills are learnt and developed on a daily basis. The broad range of work, tools, equipment and materials that we use allow us to have a great knowledge base for use on other tasks that we may be given.
I thoroughly enjoy my programme.
I feel like a valued member of the team, both on a team level and a business level.
As a whole the structure of the programme is of a great quality, however, I believe that in a lot of cases it is very hard to stay to the structure that you were set i.e. placement locations are often changed/cancelled. This can sometimes hinder your workplace knowledge you will have when you leave the apprenticeship scheme.
I receive any extra support/training that I need/require. It is often done in a reasonable time frame.

I sometimes struggle to have any money left over to save for a house at the end of each pay block, after all my outgoings have been taken out, I will often not have much money left over to save.
There are a number of opportunities that you can be a part of outside of work, this may involve charity work, company business, sporting events and social activities.
