Project Control role, involving detailed involvement in project costs, schedule and performance. Day-to-day tasks include reporting on the above aspects of individual projects.
Communication skills have improved massively, much more confident and assertive in difficult situations. Microsoft Excel skills have also developed.
I really enjoy my programme, working 4 days a week, along side studying for 1 day really help me to understand the theory when I see it implemented in real life situations.
Very valued - excellent company to work for. I have always had excellent managers and colleagues who make me feel valued and respected.
Well structured and organised. Communication from our scheme managers is excellent, although information from college could be communicated slightly better.
Support from college is acceptable, definitely scope for improvement on getting consistent assignment feedback across all our tutors. For example some of them can give different feedback when it comes to referencing quality.
Lots of support received from employer, and issues I have had have been addressed promptly and professionally, this is from both scheme managers and line managers.
Very well. I feel very lucky to be on the salary that I am, and that BAE are funding my learning. One of the best paid apprenticeship schemes I am aware of.
Lots of opportunities for volunteer work, in terms of promoting apprenticeships in schools and roadshows, which allow us to gain more confidence.
Yes
As a BAE systems employee I am treated very well and it is a very welcoming company to work for. The education I have had since starting the company has been excellent and I have had support from all required areas to allow me to perform at my best.
Do research on what you are applying for, make sure you know the details of the apprenticeship and lots of information about the company- what they do and their ethos for example.
