WHEN I AM FULLY QUALIFIED I WILL BE MAINTANING THE PRESSURE AND CONTROL SIDE OF NATIONAL GRID DISTRIBUTION. THIS MEANS DOING FUNCTIONAL CHECKS AND IF ANY OF THE CHECKS FAIL FINIDNG THE PROBLEMS AND MAKING A SOLUTION. WHILE I AM IN MY APPRENTICSHIP I GO TO COLLEGE DOING A BTEC IN ENGINEERING AND I DO TRAINING FOR THE JOB WHICH I WILL NEED WHEN IM FULLY COMPETENT WHICH INVLOVES TRAVELING AROUND TO PLACES
I HAVE LEARNT A VARITEY OF SKILLS, SOME OF THEM SO SIMPLE AS SPEAKING TO PEOPLE AND BUILDING MY CONFIDENCE OTHER AS BIG AS FIRST AID TRAINING AND MINES RECUE TRAINING.
I ENJOY MY PROGRAMME A LOT , THIS IS BECAUSE YOU MEET A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE. INCLUDING THIS YOU LEARN DIFFERENTS SKILL AND TRAINING IN DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS SUCH AS FIRST AID AND CONFIEND SPACES AND SOME OF THE COURSE CAN BE FUN AND ENJOYABLE AND SOME CAN BE CHALLENGING WHICH IS GOOD BECAUE YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU ARE CAPABLE OF DOING.
DOING THIS JOB YOU ARE VALUED ALOT BY NATIONAL GRID WHEN YOU ARE WORKING ON SITE THEY MAKE YOU FEEL WELCOME. THEY INCLUDE YOU IN CHALLENEGS. ALSO YOU GET GIVEN THE ATTENTION NEEDED AND YOU ARE LOOKED AFTER BY THE COMPANY. BUT AS IT IS SUCH A BIG COMPANY YOU ARENT KNOWN BY EVERYBODY BECAUSE THERE ARE OVER A MILLION WORKERS.
THE PROGRAMME IS ORGANISED VERY WELL, YOU HAVE YOUR TRAINING FIT AROUND YOU AND IF POSSIBLE MOVED FOR YOU IF NEEDED. YOU HAVE THE PROGRAMME SET OUT SO YOU DO LITTLE AMOUNT OF TRAVELLING INSTEAD OF GOING DIFFERENT PLACES EVERY WEEK YOU SPEND A WEEK AT THE SAME PLACE WHICH SAVES A LOT OF HASSLE.
FROM THE TRAINERS WHO COME IN AND TRAIN US YOU GET A LOT OF SUPPORT BUT YOU DONT NEED IT BECAUSE THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE YOU CAN TURN TO IN THE BUSINESS BUT THEY HELP YOU WITH THE TRAINING PART OF THE APPRENTICSHIP AND IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING THEY WILL HELP YOU.
I THINK THERE IS A LOT OF SUPPORT AS YOU HAVE DIFFERENT PEOPLE TO TURN TO IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM INCLUDING A MEANTOR, LINE MANAGERS, PROGRAMME MANAGERS AND PEOPLE ON SITE TO TALK TO AND FOR ADVISE IF YOU NEED IT, WHICH MAKES YOU FEEL COMFTABLE IN YOUR JOB
THE PAY AND BENIFIT YOU RECIVE FROM NATIONAL GRID ARE GOOD AND I WOULDNYT NEED MORE FROM THEM AS THEY PAY FOR STAYING AWAY AND TRAVELLING AND YOUR PAY IS A GENEROUS AMOUNT FOR MY AGE
THEY ARE DIFFERENT OPPORTUNITES GOING TO DIFFERENT AWARD CERMONIES FOR NATIONAL GRID MEETING PEOPLE IN THE GOVERNEMNT. YOU CAN HAVE OPPORTUNITES TO DO HIGHER LEVELS OF EDUCATION SUCH AS A HNC AND A DEGREE.
Yes
I THINK THE COMPANY HAS LOTS OF DIFFERNET BENIFITS, YOU TRAIN IN LOTS OF DIFFERNET PLACES AND SECTORS AND THEY GIVE YOU A WIDE VARIETY OF KNOWLADGE AND SKILLS INCLUDING THE BTEC.
REVISE WELL BEFORE THE INTERVIEW AND YOU NEED TO KNOW A LOT OF KNOWLADGE ABOUT THE COMPANY, ALSO I WOULD ONLY ADVISE THEM TO APPLY IF THEY WANTED TO DO ENGINEERING.
