Currently at college full time, but during holiday times we go into work and see and take part in shadowing people so that we see how the company works and get to start forming connections
All the skills are new to me! Engineering isn't something I had much experience with at all so I am learning everyday. Also developed existing skills with regards to how a big company works...
I love the programme, decided to apply on a whim but it's really enjoyable and flexible. GSK caters for each apprentice on a personal level and ensures that it's interesting as well as informative
Yes I do - as stated above, everybody is dealt with on a personal level.. which I imagine in a big company isn't something that happens often.
Well structured and have seen even bigger improvements as the year has gone on.
All hours of the day - know my manager really well even though I'm not even at work properly as of yet. He regularly comes into college and I email him whenever I have a problem/with regards to updates.
As much support as I need. GSK is of the mindset that they want to aid our studies as much as they can. I've had all the relevant textbooks provided aswell
Salary is fab! Absolutely no complaints, amazing especially for an apprentice
Yes the company encourages us to work with the community ie Orange Days (charity events) and in July for example we - as the apprentices - are taking part in the local carnival with a float etc representing GSK. We aren't only thought of as employees
Yes
I genuinely love the scheme. I enjoy going into work!
Be open and honest with who you are and what you're interested in.
