HR assistant. I recruit internal and external customers for Sales, Marketing and After sales.
Communication and social skills are key in my role. I must know a lot about laws and legislation so I am constantly learning within my role.
Work - varied and never doing the same thing day to day (sometimes can be bad not knowing what the day will bring). Great team. Culture - I feel apart of the company but there are clear silos between departments. Far exceeded my expectations for an apprenticeship. Love my current role.
As a person within my department and to others I feel valued. However when compared to undergraduates we are the bottom of the food chain.
To begin with it seemed very structured. We have had a lot of movement within the talent requisition team so now it is not very structured as we do not know where we stand within the business or where we are going.
College? I only go because I have to. I learn more in my spare time than in class. I know my tutor will support me if i need it but the college itself is not organised when tutors leave half way through the year.
I believe there is no limit to the training that is available to us. As an apprentice they offer you everything so you can get a taste of every side of the business. In my two years I have had so much support it's been great.
I cannot move out and find myself a house, however i can live off my salary and I can mange to save some money every month.
Yes, I have had the chance to travel to Germany twice on work business trips. Also can attend Good wood and various other events.
Yes
Because I am proud of the brand and I know if I work hard it will be recognized and the culture within the company is a great one to work for. A Global company has more opportunities available for career development.
Know what the opportunities are available before you start. Be confident and ask lots of questions in the interview process.
