I am at college 5 days a week, completing educational courses involving electrical and mechanical tasks, it involves using machines such as lathes and also creating electrical circuits.
Yes, I will achieve a level 3 Performing Engineering Operations Qualification in mechanical and electrical engineering and a HNC for mechanical engineering. I have completed a 5 day mechanical maintenance course and many more training oppotunities to come.
I enjoy working in the environment I am in; college involves classroom work and practical work such as in a workshop. I have met lots of new people.
I feel valued because I have been given this oppotunity to improve my skills with the support of the company. I have been involved with many tasks offered by GSK and have enjoyed them.
It is well structured as I have a good understanding of what I am expected to do in this apprenticeship.
Generally, support from college tutors would be increased and the tutors to have more avaliability for us to ask for help.
When I ask for help I am certain that there will be someone who can help me.
very well
there are lots of events, volunteering days (orange days), Big bang events, school promotional events locally and public events including a small carnival in the local town.
Yes
It is an amazing oppotunity to gain and improve your skill set. Glaxo is very suppporting and will give you a great start in life in terms of career, opportunity and experience. Definitely worth it financially compared to university!
Make sure you only apply if you really want it and dont apply because someone told you and complete the application process on your own as the company are employing you and not your parents! Make sure you practise being interviewed before the day to gain confidence in yourself and your answers.
