I assist lawyers in putting together the cases that we take to the Crown Court in the Crown Prosecution Service. This involves a lot of communication with the Police and Court and Defence Solicitors.
So many! I have been on so many courses thanks to the apprenticeship, such as assertion in the workplace, writing to the public etc. These skills I can use in whatever work place I end up in- hugely valuable.
Hugely. It is so varied and the work that I do is constantly exciting. It adds variety to do the apprenticeship work along side it.
Very. My manager really respects the qualification and apprenticeship and gives me lots of time to focus on it if I need it.
Very well structured. We have a classroom day once a month and can take two study leave days throughout the month. This really helps and I can plan in advance when I do these and see my mentor alongside.
A lot. My tutor is always on call or the end of an email as soon as I hit a problem. If there is a real issue, she is also very happy to come and see me face to face.
My manager is so supportive of the course. We are the first apprentices she has had here, but they have fitted us in so well, and give us plenty of guidance, as well as the time we need to do the work in.
Living in London is always expensive- but I save money by cycling to work! Overall, I can cope!
Yes. I have attended international women's day events and many other courses outside of the legal world that I work in.
Yes
Because it offers so many opportunities and there are so many different departments that there will always be something to suit everyone.
Work hard for the entrance exams- they are difficult! But it is worth it, so keep focused and aim high.
