I work in the audit department. On a daily basis, I undertake testing on a variety of clients as part of the audit process. My time is split between being on site, working face to face with the client and time in the office. I work in teams of all sizes. Some as small as two people in a team and other teams of up to fourteen people.
BDO offer plenty of internal training to help develop/learn new skills. These could be communication skills, or learning how to use a specific program. On top of this, the ACA qualification allows you to learn throughout your contract. The qualification is taught by qualified accountants, and when at college, you are constantly enhancing your knowledge.
Everyday is different at BDO, and you are always given the opportunity to push yourself and take on new work. All members of the team are very friendly and help you to develop. The work is often challenging, and as a result very interesting which makes the job very rewarding.
BDO offer plenty of support, and always offer praise when you perform well. As already mentioned, they are always willing to support when you have a desire to take on new work and colleagues will take time to answer any questions that you may have.
The programme is very well structured. You receive training throughout your time as a trainee, and exams are planned well in advance. It is very rare that you will not know what training and work you have coming up in the coming weeks.
BPP offer good quality tutoring, and the tutors are always on stand by to answer any queries you have.
You are assigned a counselling manager at BDO who will offer close support throughout your training contract. However, as well as this all members of staff are very friendly and willing to assist at all times.
The salary is adequate, and BDO will cover all expeses you incur whilst working.
There are many social events you can attend outside of work. There are also charity events BDO organise as well as supporting you when attending networking events.

It's a great firm to work for. The work is both interesting and challenging, bur you are duly rewarded for the effort you put in.
It is important to do your research on the role you are applying for and the firms values. These are often questions that will get asked, and that you need to be confident in answering questions about if you are going to succeed at interview.
