Technical Trainee (Electrical): Creating, Editing and Altering AutoCAD drawing. Creating 3D models on multiple software platforms and having input in basic engineering decisions throughout most projects
A large skill base has been obtained as when started there was no knowledge base on the software and little on the electrical engineering side to now where i have an active input in decision making and can be left as a lone technician on projects to create and issue multiple drawings with an understanding of what’s on them.
The program is enjoyable and the work is enjoyable but the programme isn’t easy and is very demanding. Much time, effort and self-motivation is needed to stay on top of the workload however this attitude means that you quickly become a useful member of the team.
I very quickly felt like I was a usful part of the team in ARUP.
ARUP has a well organised structure and program and a clear vision of what they want us to achieve however the college has their own criteria and as part time students with full time work to deal. This can end up with a clash of interest and leads to cracks in the framework of the programme.
Firstly im assuming my training provider is the college. I fell like there is the concept of support. More from some members then other over the 2 years. Because of being part time a week is a long time to wait for questions so some members of staff are very active through email that provides lots of support out of the classroom.
ARUP seem to want to fix any problems that arise quickly to minimise disruption.
In relative terms the job pays well.
Possibly however I haven’t perused many
Yes
I have learnt a lot in a short amount of time felling like a useful member of a team that pays relatively well with job satisfaction and the prospects of a carrier
