Im part of the Broker backup team in the Marine and Energy department at Aon Benfield. My job role is to prepare slips that the brokers can take out into the market and get signed for renewal. Once this part is completed and reinsures have signed the slip I need to prepare a cover note for the insured.
The apprentiship programme is very good at Aon as it allows the apprentices to receive training in order for us to pass our CII Insurance exams. Working at Aon has definately helped me improve my computer skills as most the time I am on the computer preparing slips and cover notes. Aon is a very social company aswell which has benefited me as you regualy interact with new people in the market.
As im part of the Broker backup team IT MEANS THAT I AM LIMITED TO LEAVING THE OFFICE AND GOIN OUT INTO THE MARKET WHICH IS NOT GREAT.HOWEVER, I COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER TEAM AS EVERY ONE MAKES YOU FEEL WELCOME WHICH MAKES WOEK LIFE ALOT EASIER.
I feel vary valued by Aon as when I first joined all the apprentices went to an Apprentice seminar which had very senior figures attend. The guest speakers at the event made us very welcome and told us we are the future of the company which shows they value us.
Fairly well organised. The induction training that we received was very good however, now were more involved with our teams it feels like the training has took a step backwards.
We normally get one training session a month which is ok. However, in the future I think we would benefit if there were more training sessions to do with our exams.
Excellent. Within my team I am allways receive support from them if there was anything that I didn't quite understand. Every member of my team is willing to help which is great.
Its not the best considering how much it costs to travel and eat in the city. Also to pay for a car and living expensises really takes its toll with the salary we receive.
There are allways networking events taking place in the city which allows us to interact with other people from different companies which is great.
Yes
Because they are a great company who are allways willing to help and offer you the oppurtunity to progress your skills.
It's a great friendly company with lots of oppurtunites to progress and succeed within the market.
